It's time for

4th July

Romsey and Southampton North are in dire need of serious change. Over the past 14 years, we have seen crime rates rise and sewage spill into our water, and the Conservatives have failed to deliver real solutions in our constituency to address these issues, and things are only getting worse.

Only Labour will be able to deliver real change in Romsey and Southampton North!

About Christie

As a local resident and vocal activist, local Southampton councillor, Christie Lambert, was a natural choice to represent Labour in Romsey and Southampton North in the upcoming general election.

Christie, a small business owner and HR professional, moved to Bassett 7 years ago with her two young daughters and husband, Simon, a former teacher of 10 years. Since then, Christie has served as a local councillor and Cabinet member and has also served on two local school governing bodies over the past year. As a councillor herself, Christie is all too familiar with the crises local authorities are facing due to fourteen years of Tory austerity cuts and the severe risk that these cuts pose to residents of Romsey and Southampton North.

CHRISTIE'S MESSAGE TO ROMSEY AND SOUTHAMPTON NORTH

"I firmly believe a Labour government is the one and only way Romsey and Southampton North will see the changes we so desperately need to see. Crime rates continue to rise, and yet, we aren’t seeing a proportional allocation of policing resources to our area. Our water supply is polluted with copious amounts of sewage yet the culpable parties have not been held to account, and our NHS is no longer fit for purpose due to being under-resourced for so many years. The Conservatives are collectively responsible for this utter failure, and I firmly believe that only a Labour government could even begin to undo this disaster. I promise, if elected, to go beyond polling day, and fight for Romsey and Southampton North to become the cleaner, greener, safe haven it deserves to be.

Deprivation is on the rise and we are starting to see the effects this cost of living crisis is having here in Romsey. Mortgage rates are skyrocketing and there is a real fear that many people will lose their homes as a result. We cannot be complacent. A vote for Labour is the only logical option for Romsey and Southampton North this general election"

CHRISTIE'S MISSION STATEMENT

For a better, safer Romsey and Southampton North, vote for Labour on 4th July.

Christie's Plan

for Romsey and Southampton North

01

Clean up our water

Britain’s waterways have become an open sewer thanks to the Tories’ hands-off approach. The Tory sewage crisis is destroying our countryside, trashing nature, damaging tourism, and putting kids’ health at risk. Labour’s plan will stop the bonuses, tackle failing water companies, and protect Romsey and Southampton North.

02

Economic Stability

Support residents and businesses to regenerate high streets and empower communities to lease empty shops for independent businesses. Labour will deliver stability with iron discipline, guided by strong fiscal rules, robust economic institutions, and a new ‘fiscal lock’ to ensure we never repeat the mini budget that sent mortgage rates soaring.

03

Tackle anti-social behaviour

Antisocial behaviour is making too many people’s lives a misery and is blighting our local community and town centre. Yet too often nothing is done, because under the Conservatives neighbourhood policing has been decimated. Labour will work to restore community policing and implement youth hubs to divert young people away from crime.

04

Energy Price Cap

If the Tories get back in, Britain will remain vulnerable to dictators like Putin, and family finances will continue to be rocked by sky-high energy bills. A Labour government will cut bills by setting up Great British Energy, a new publicly-owned company to invest in homegrown clean energy so we can boost energy independence and cut bills for good.

05

Rebuild our NHS

The NHS is on its knees. The waiting list - now at 7.5 million - is leaving patients languishing in pain and misery. This is having a devastating impact on people who are being forced out of work and is bad for the economy. Labour has a plan to cut waiting lists; five more years of the Tories will mean waiting times will continue to soar.
